THE CHALLENGE
MY APPROACH
Create a platform dedicated solely to child care that centralizes tasks, schedules, guidance, and updates so no caregiver ever has to start from scratch again.
Let’s talk dogri taking care of a child isn’t fun most of the time, and that’s exactly what needs to change. My mission is to make caregivers smile and actually enjoy what they do, even if it’s just for a few moments.

BACKGROUND
A few months before I started the project, I became a father myself at 24, with no experience or knowledge in taking care of a child. It happened on a day just like any other. All I had to do was keep an eye on him while he slept and my wife was out. But then he decided he was hungry completely off schedule (this was before we worked on his manners).

A MOMENT OF HONESTY
At first there were some tears (this time mine). The thought that I didn’t know how to take care of my own child was a bit tough. After I pulled myself together, I remembered my dad and realized I’m not the only parent who doesn’t know how to care for their kid.
USER RESEARCH

For a baby up to one year old

You're the real heroes

Buned-out aunties, babysitters
and unwilling grandmas
01
Secondary caregivers felt lost without proper guidance, highlighting how critical it is to design for clarity and reduce any chance of misinterpretation
02
Parents shouldn't have to chase updates with endless phone calls. A real-time feed of the child's status gives them peace of mind the moment they step out the door
03
Users need structured communication that prevents misunderstandings early, with clear context, tasks, and tracking, instead of adding yet another messaging app
04
The majority find gamification important, pointing to a need for engaging, rewarding interactions that keep users motivated and coming back
THE INSIGHT
A lot of caregivers lack basic childcare knowledge and use informal group chats to fill the gap. What they actually need is a focused, distraction-free platform built specifically for caregiving. And ideally, one that doesn't feel like homework.
COMPETITOR ANALYSIS
Existing apps like Baby DayBook cover activity tracking but lack task assignment, gamification, or caregiver synchronization. Others handle task management but aren't designed for child care at all. JohnJohn sits at the intersection nobody else has built.

No gamification or reward system
Event-based only not task-focused
Smooth multi-device sync
Custom reminders
Free and easy to use

Not tailored for baby care
No built in chat between users
Advanced task management
Smart reminders with recurrence
Gamification
“Boss mode” assign tasks to others

Baby DayBook
No dashboard
No task assignment or delegation
No gamification or reward system
Specifically designed for baby care
Full activity history
Shared access for caregivers
A MOMENT OF HONESTY #2
At that point in the project, I’d hit burnout and couldn’t even look at it. I’d do anything to avoid it, even rewatching Deadpool for the hundredth time. Then it clicked: Liam Neeson is a terrible dad, I mean, she gets kidnapped three times. That’s the kind of caregiver we’re trying not to be
